YOU

                                      AUTHOR: SOHEL KARIM

	You looked at me
	Once.
	Round eyes, fathomless,
	Pointed nose,
	And I give a sigh.

You locked your eyes with mine,
	Lonely, grayish, moistened
	With yesterday's misty tears.
I try to held my eyes on you,
	Struggling, fumbling,
	Nervous as a cow.

	Time! Space! Quantum events!
Hold on! Hold on your pace!
	Let me be brave,
Let me put my fatuous kiaugh aside.

The flowery scent of you, soft, musky,
Flowing out, landing on me, sweet, imaginary.
	I inhale, hard, hiding temptation,
	Bellowing on my shadow.

	Wake up, farmer!
The barren land needs kindling, ploughing.

	Hey girl, look at me,
	Once more.
	I am here.
	Waiting.
	For you.
